Gwen Stefani has reassured fans her new album ‘Bouquet’ is “not a country record”.
The No Doubt frontwoman will release her fifth solo LP on November 15 and, after sharing lead single Somebody Else’s, she’s opened up on the inspiration behind the music.
“It’s not a country record,” she told Rolling Stone of her first record in seven years. “It’s all the stuff I listened to in the station wagon on the way to church.
“Yacht rock, though it wasn’t called yacht rock then. The music I listen to now, I wanted this album to reflect that.”
Explaining the meaning behind the album’s title, she added: “That’s why I feel ‘Bouquet’ is a really perfect title. Like each song was handpicked with meaning.”
The follow-up to the holiday-themed ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’ (2017) also features the Blake Shelton collaboration Purple Irises.
It comes as Gwen’s debut solo album ‘Love. Angel. Music. Baby.’ (2004) turns 20 this year.
