The surviving members of Girls Aloud each took part in a five kilometre run to raise funds for charity in memory of Sarah Harding.
The singer passed away in September 2021 following a battle with breast cancer and, on Sunday, July 24, Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh each took part in the Cancer Research UK-organised Race For Life.
Cheryl, Nadine and Nicola each ran the 5k across London’s Hyde Park, while Kimberley joined virtually.
Speaking at the event, Cheryl admitted (via NME): “[It] doesn’t feel like she’s gone at all. I’ve never experienced or anticipated this grief… I still can’t quite believe it’s real.”
Meanwhile, Nadine told press at the event that she “was completely in denial right up until the day [Sarah] passed.”
“Sarah would have loved this day & loved seeing you all coming together for such a great cause,” she later added on Instagram.
Last year, Sarah released her memoir ‘Hear Me Out‘, and shared the devastating news of her prognosis, confirming: “In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last.”
However, Sarah said she was “trying to live and enjoy every second of my life, however long it might be”.
