Gary Barlow is hoping his hit show ‘I’m With The Band’ will be picked up for more episodes.
The Take That frontman’s music show premiered with a one-off special on Friday, June 4 on BBC One, and was the most-viewed programme in its slot.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the Pray singer confessed he’d “love” to work on more episodes, along with co-stars James Bay, Tom Fletcher and Mica Paris.
“It’s a one-off for now,” he confirmed, adding, “I’d love to make more.”
And Gary believes the programme, which also featured Jamie Cullum, Danya Fisher, Donavan Hepburn and musical director Guy Chambers, is refreshing for viewers because it’s not a talent show.
The former ‘The X Factor’ judge explained: “I feel like we watch very prescribed TV, it’s very produced, it’s done by a team of people in a room.
“I’m tired of seeing music forced into these formats, while people are voting.”
‘I’m With The Band’ saw Gary joined by a host of musician pals who formed a house band and performed alongside special guests, including Anne-Marie, DJ and producer Nathan Dawe, rapper MoStack and Craig David.
Meanwhile, Gary recently admitted he and his Take That bandmates Howard Donald and Mark Owen can’t wait to get back onstage and won’t wait around when live performances become possible.
“We’re desperate to come back and do something,” he shared. “I don’t know what it will be yet, whether it’s a tour or album, or both even. But Take That are going nowhere,” he added.
The Incredible singer added: “I think we will, as long as we are all fit and healthy. I think we all love the experience of being on stage. We love being in Take That.
“That greatest hits album [‘Odyssey’] marked a moment for us, and we are happy for that moment to just hold there, but I don’t think it will be long before we’re back. The touring side is such a big part of it for us, so we’ll wait until people are safely back and feeling confident.”
