Gabrielle has confirmed new music is on the way. 

The singer-songwriter is celebrating 30 years since the release of her chart-topping debut single Dreams with a massive UK tour later this year – and it looks like she’s readying new music too. 

Following her appearance on the final of series four of ‘The Masked Singer UK’, one fan wrote to her on Twitter: “would you be so kind @gabrielleuk as to give us a new album soon please.”

In response, she said: ”I certainly can.”

After competing on series three of the ITV show as Harlequin, Gabrielle released the covers album ‘Do It Again’ and, speaking to RETROPOP at the time, she confirmed she had plenty of new songs written and waiting to be recorded. 

“It’s funny, because when I write songs, and then time goes by, I never think I’m just going to use those songs. I’ll always write new ones,” she shared. “You think, ‘That’s great, but what else have I got? What else can I do?’ I always like to push myself. So, let’s just say, I don’t think we’re going to be waiting too long for the next album.”

The Out of Reach hitmaker added: “The days of waiting for me for like 11 years are over. My kids are grown. I’m more selfish as opposed to selfless. My daughter’s going to be 18, my son’s gonna be 26 this year… I’m happy to walk out the door and say, ‘See you later guys’. 

“So I’m excited and I can’t wait. I’m just loving the opportunities that are coming my way to be able to release new music, and just keep doing what I love doing.”
