Demos of Fleetwood Mac tracks Fireflies and One More Night have been released across digital platforms for the first time.
Both songs were originally available on the group’s 1980 ‘Live’ album, which was reissued on 2LP vinyl earlier this year.
The set also included a limited edition 7” single featuring both outtakes and, weeks after release, the duo of tunes has been shared on streaming platforms and download stores.
Fireflies, an uptempo Stevie Nicks penned and sung number, deals with the relationships between the members of Fleetwood Mac; many of whom famously dated, including herself and frontman Lindsey Buckingham, and later drummer Mick Fleetwood.
Meanwhile, One More Night is a Christine McVie piano ballad.
Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Live’ album also featured rare recordings of the Buckingham Nicks track Don’t Let Me Down Again, taken from their eponymous debut album, along with a cover of the Beach Boys’ The Farmer’s Daughter.
The band famously revived the latter number of their ‘The Dance’ Tour in 1997, with the Buckingham Nicks rarity occasionally performed in the late ‘80s and early ‘00s. Neither Fireflies or One More Night have been performed live since their debut.
