Elton John and Ed Sheeran have shared a preview clip for their new single ‘Merry Christmas’.
The chart-topping pals both feature in the clip, which sees Ed surprise Elton by showing up at his front door with a series of cards, confirming the song’s release.
He sings: ‘So kiss me under the mistletoe, pour out the wine. Let’s toast and pray for December snow…
Just under a year ago, I called @edsheeran to see if he wanted to make a Christmas single with me and now it’s nearly here!

‘I know there’s been pain this year but it’s time to let it go.’
According to the Bad Habits star, he wasn’t sure he wasn’t sure whether a festive track would “suit” him, but he changed his mind after losing a close friend.
“You don’t know if you’ll still be there tomorrow, everything can change overnight,” he previously told NPO Radio 2 in the Netherlands.
Earlier this year, Elton released his comeback album ‘The Lockdown Sessions’, featuring collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Stevie Nicks and Stevie Wonder.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘The Lockdown Sessions’ “a fitting chapter at this point in Elton’s six-decade career”.
‘The Lockdown Sessions’ is available on CD, vinyl and cassette.
