Elton John has responded to BTS’ shout-out to the music icon in their latest track Permission to Dance.
The standalone single is the South Korean group’s third English-language release, following 2020 global smash Dynamite and recent release Butter.
On the tune, the group references the I’m Still Standing hitmaker, with lead rapper RM singing, “When it all feels like it’s wrong / Just sing along to Elton John / And to that feeling, we’re just getting started.”
When it all seems like it’s right, I sing along to @bts_bighit #PermissionToDance

Taking to social media, Elton appeared thrilled by the name drop as he also shared his love for the seven-piece group.
He penned: “When it all seems like it’s right, I sing along to @bts_bighit #PermissionToDance.”
Elton has proven to be a fan of a number of current chart acts in recent times, and this year alone has released collaborations with Rina Sawayama on her track Chosen Family, along with a cover of Pet Shop Boys’ It’s a Sin with Olly Alexander.
