Hole star Courtney Love isn’t happy with rising pop star Olivia Rodrigo over a new photo session.
The rocker has accused the Driver’s License singer of ripping off one of Hole’s 1994 ‘Live Through This’ album cover with promo shots for her upcoming ‘Sour Prom’ concert film.
In the snaps, both stars are seen as prom queens, wearing tiaras and smudged make-up.
After Olivia unveiled the photos, Courtney reposted the announcement alongside the Hole album cover, writing: “Spot the difference! #twinning!”
And while the teen star insisted she lives “through this sooooo much”, Courtney seemed less than thrilled with her response, adding: “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! Dm me for deets! I look forward to reading your note.”
On her Facebook page, Courtney continued: “Does Disney teach kids reading and writing? God knows. Let’s see. Yes, this is rude. Rage inducing? Honey if I had a dollar for everyone [sic] this happens? I’d be real rich!
“It was rude of her and Geffen [Records] not to ask myself or [photographer] Ellen von Unwerth. It’s happened my whole career…
“But manners is manners! It’s rude not to be asked. I know Ellen von Unwerth isn’t amused. My cover was my original idea. [sic]”Olivia has yet to respond to the further criticism, but doesn’t seem to have hurt her career – she topped the charts internationally with the LP last month and scored similar feats with its lead single and follow-up tracks Good 4 U and the Top 5 Deja Vu.
