The Girls Aloud singer launched a hugely successful solo career in 2008 with her chart-topping debut Fight For This Love, and went on to score a further four No. 1 singles with Promise This, Call My Name, Crazy Stupid Love and I Don’t Care.
Following the release of her fourth album ‘Only Human’ in 2014, she took an extended break to focus on motherhood and when she returned in 2018 with Love Made Me Do It, the track stalled at No. 19.
Follow-up Let You fared even worse, peaking at No. 57, and when asked by a fan about new music, the performer – who is currently starring in ‘2:22: A Ghost Story’ in London’s West End – cast doubt about the future of her recording career.
According to MailOnline, she asked, “What am I going to do?” with one fan saying: “Music. Hint, hint.”
Cheryl replied: “The industry’s completely changed and I don’t know if I’d fit in.”
