Chaka Khan is “excited” to be back in the studio working on new music.
The funk legend took to social media to share a clip of herself warming up her voice with a whistle exercise as she prepared to lay down vocals.
“#RecordingStudio My #HappyPlace,” she penned. “Excited about what’s ahead.”
It’s been two years since the Ain’t Nobody star returned with her 12th solo album ‘Hello Happiness’, spawning the hit single Like Sugar.
Last year, she collaborated with stage star Idina Menzel on a new recording of her classic track I’m Every Woman in support of International Women’s Day, and Chaka also confirmed a biopic based on her life is in the works.
“I will be able to have a lot of input into the situations which I really do plan to do,” she said of the project.
“I plan for it to be truthful, honest to a fault. It’s going to be a great, cathartic thing, you know, for me to do, and I’m looking forward to that.”
