Celine Dion has axed the remainder of her ‘Courage World Tour’. 

The Think Twice star completed the first 52 dates of the ‘Courage World Tour’ in North America before the pandemic emerged and paused the run of shows in March 2020.

Since then, she’s opened up about her struggles with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), which causes her muscles to tense uncontrollably and progressively locks the body into rigid positions, affecting her ability to move and sing. 

Although there is no known cure for the rare ailment, there are treatments to slow down the progression of the illness and the vocal powerhouse is working with doctors in a bid to manage the effects and return to performing. 

“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again,” says Celine of the cancellations. “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100 per cent. 

“It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again. 

“I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”

A statement from her team adds: “We do have every hope that someday soon, Celine will be able to come to all of these cities in Europe to perform for her amazing fans, but that time simply is not now.”
