Busted have already cut a number of tracks for their fifth studio album, Matt Willis has confirmed.
The group – also starring Charlie Simpson and James Bourne – is on the road with a run of UK arena shows and just released ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’, featuring re-recorded versions of their biggest hits.
Although their latest era looks to the past, Matt insists the group is focussed on the future, telling the Daily Star’s Wired column: “It feels like it has all been leading up to this in a way, and if we were gonna hang up our hats then this would be the tour to do it on.
“I don’t think that we are, but this would be a good time. We’ve come full circle and this tour and album is celebrating all we have done in the past 20 vears.”
With recent single, Good One, a taste of the new material to come, Matt adds: “We wanted to show fans that this isn’t us bowing out, with it we are saying, ‘Don’t worry we aren’t going anywhere, we are constantly making music, constantly working, and there is a future to Busted!’ “Good One was the first track we did but now we have a bunch more, it’s a good song and it’s a sign of what’s to come.
“The rest of the songs are very open, we are enjoying exploring new essences within Busted, it’s an interesting time for us.”
