Britney Spears has seemingly addressed the #FreeBritney movement in a a new Instagram post.
The Baby… One More Time hitmaker has been the subject of headlines in recent months as she fights to have her father Jamie removed from her controversial conservatorship arrangement.
Her fight was the subject of the New York Times documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears’ and, as fans and high-profile figures continue to fight for Britney’s freedom, the star admitted she’s “flattered” by people’s concern.
She captioned an Instagram clip from her Just a Touch of Rose shoot from 2020: “So this video for Just a Touch of Rose was shot last year … these specific takes have never been seen so it’s sort of new to me !!!! I have over 10 minutes of video for the Rose project and trust me that’s A LOT!!!!
“Happy to share especially with a world that is empathetic and concerned with my life … what can I say I’m FLATTERED !!! Here’s to another beautiful summer of popsicles and sunbathing !!! [sic]”
The pop legend broke her silence on the Hulu documentary for the first time last month, admitting she felt “embarrassed” by the contents of the production and also broke down in tears watching certain parts of the film.
In an Instagram post, she wrote at the time: “My life has always been very speculated …
“Watched … and judged really my whole life !!! For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive !!! I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people !!!
“It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day !!!! As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people !!!
“I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!! [sic]”
According to reports, Britney is refusing to return to the stage until Jamie steps down from overseeing her affairs.
