Boy George has publicly backed Britney Spears’ ongoing legal fight with his new single Free Britney.
The singer is currently in the midst of legal proceedings to be released from the 13-year legal arrangement that has seen dad Jamie take control of her life.
She’s received public support from everyone from Cher to Miley Cyrus, and now George has sided with the Toxic hitmaker with his latest track.
Alongside the artwork for the tune, which features Karina Fernandez, he penned: “Love that this out! #FreeBritney.”
‘I got revolution in my eyes / I got revolution on my tongue’ he sings over pulsing electronic beats.
The new tune comes days after the Culture Club star hit the dance floor for his latest pop number Dirty Disco.
Earlier this year, the Karma Chameleon hitmaker revealed plans to celebrate his 60th birthday with even more new music, and hinted he’s already preparing another album for late 2021.
And the new LP could feature a collaboration with Erasure’s Andy Bell, with George revealing: “I wrote the most insane song with Andy Bell called ‘That Night In Brazil’ we are pop music’s finest surrealists!”
It’s not the only collaboration he’s been working on; George enlisted Kim Wilde to appear on Name and Number from his album ‘Cool Karaoke Vol 1’ earlier this year, and she later introduced the Culture Club star onShine On, the lead single from her ‘Pop Don’t Stop: Greatest Hits’ box set.
