Billy Porter is headed back to the charts with his latest single Children.
In recent years, the star has focussed on his acting career but, after with Island Records in the UK and Republic Records in the US, he’s back with a bang.
Children is written by Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and MNEK, and is out digitally now.
“It’s a song that is inspired by my life and everything I’ve gone through to get here,” says Billy.
“For the first time, my music is what I want it to be, what I want it to say, which is hope, love. We have to choose it every day so we can fight the evil that is so pervasive.
“We can only fight it with love and I am so excited for my music for that.”
Throughout his screen career, Billy – who released his debut album in 1997 – has given musical performances in ‘Pose’ and ‘Cinderella’.
Last month, he performed a show-stopping rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine with pianist Lang Lang at the Global Citizen Live concert in Central Park.
