Billy Joel is back with his new single Turn The Lights Back On – his first in 17 years.
The piano ballad was produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Freddy Wexler, and written by Joel, Wexler, Arthur Bacon and Wayne Hector.
It’s his first pop effort with lyrics since 2007’s All My Life and arrives more than three decades after his last album of all-new pop, 1993’s ‘River Of Dreams’.
He first teased the release during a Madison Square Garden show last December, telling the crowd: “I have good news. I have bad news. I’ll give you the bad news first. We don’t have anything new to play for you.
“The good news is you don’t have to sit through something you have no idea what it is. Although we’ve got a little something we’ve been working on you might hear sometime…”
