Beyoncé’s new album ‘Cowboy Carter’ has been named the most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far.
The country-influenced LP arrived last Friday (March 29) and has already proven a massive hit, quickly becoming the most-popular album on Spotify.
It debuted on the music platform with 76.13 million streams on its first day, according to fan account Bey Legion, which declared the LP to have secured the “biggest debut of 2024 by nearly 30%” and “the biggest debut by a Black female artist ever”.
The account also reported that ‘Cowboy Carter’ is the sixth-highest female Spotify debut in history.
Its success was confirmed by Spotify, which confirmed in a post on X: “On Friday, March 29, Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2024 so far.”
“This is also the first time a country album holds the title this year.”
Figures for the album – which features appearances from Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus, among others – are above those for Beyoncé’s previous album ‘Renaissance’, which debuted with 43.2 million streams.
