Beyoncé has recorded a version of Moon River for her latest Tiffany & Co. campaign with JAY-Z.
In the footage, the diva sings the 1961 song, originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the movie ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, while playing piano in a penthouse apartment.
Titled ‘ABOUT LOVE’, it’s the latest in a series of promos from the luxury jewellery and specialty retailer, with a follow-up set to drop on Wednesday, September 15.
The pair said of the campaign: “Love is the diamond that the jewellery and art decorate.”
Following the release of a promo image for the placement, Beyoncé and JAY-Z attracted criticism for posing in front of a Jean-Michel Basquiat painting called ‘Equals Pi’.
Despite criticism from friends of the late New York artist, Tiffany & Co. representatives insisted: “The beauty of art is that it can be interpreted in a number of ways.
“All important works provoke thought and create a dialogue. Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Equals Pi is no different, and we are pleased to be able to share this work with the world.”
Earlier this year, Beyoncé revealed she’s been working on new music, sharing in a recent interview: “With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again.
“I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” she added, before confirming: “Yes, the music is coming!”
