Anastacia has big plans for 2025 as she plans to celebrate 25 years since the release of her debut album, ‘Not That Kind’ (2000).
The US star arrived on the scene back in 2000 with her mega-hit single I’m Outta Love, which inspired the title of her 2023 ‘I’m Outta Lockdown’ tour.
Delayed due to the pandemic, Anastacia caught Covid-19 while on the road, which led to a string of the dates being pushed as she recovered from a bout of the virus that wiped her out for weeks.
“I didn’t have Covid that was easy, so each day we were hoping it would be OK and it was the worst cancellation time I’ve ever had in my entire career,” she admits in RETROPOP’s April 2024 edition.
“I’d think I was getting better then the next day it would be worse again. You know, we all experienced Covid shit but, of course, mine happened during my ‘I’m Outta Lockdown’ tour – which turned out to be the worst title ever. But it was a super cool tour and I loved doing it. It was so much fun!”
Having just released her latest album, the German covers collection ‘Our Songs’, the Left Outside Alone singer says there’s more new music to come and, looking ahead to the next 12 months, she’s adamant that there’ll be a celebration of her latest milestone.
“There needs to be,” she beams. “Covid already took over my 20th – how dare her – so 2025 is gonna be like, ‘She’s alive and 25’. Ooh I like that! There’s the tagline for my tour!”
