Agnetha Fältskog has cast doubt on the future of ABBA beyond their new album ‘Voyage’.
The group will release their ninth LP, featuring the singles I Still Have Faith In You and Don’t Shut Me Down, on November 5.
It will be followed by the ‘ABBA Voyage’ live concert experience in London, featuring digital ABBAtars of the group, with the show set to open in May 2022.
But when it comes to ABBA’s future beyond the record and live show, Agnetha tells Swedish radio things are uncertain.
“I don’t really dare to say,” she explains. “We’re a bit older now and have our minor ailments. We struggle on. But I don’t dare say, because it’s a bit uncertain.
“At the moment we feel happy that we got this together and let’s hope everything goes well in London at the premiere over there.”
While reuniting to ready the record and show was a “great” experience for the band, Agnetha isn’t sure they’ll ever do it all over again.
“None of us probably knew what to expect but we’ve worked with it a lot so you grew into it eventually,” she muses.
“We stand there doing these songs with I don’t know how many cameras and people. It felt great to do it in the end because it was so different.
“Also there was a vibe, one felt that maybe it’s the last thing we do. Same thing with the album.”
Since being made available for pre-order, ‘Voyage’ has broken Universal Music UK’s record for the biggest ever album pre-order, racking over 80,000 UK sales to date.
