Sinitta only accepted her on-off relationship with Simon Cowell was over when he became dad to son Eric.
The So Macho star and Simon enjoyed a romance for 20 years after first meeting in the 80s, but she told New! magazine it was only truly off after he welcomed his boy in 2014.
”There was always an element of, ‘Well, it’s never really over’,” she admitted.
“But when Eric was born that was it. I would never come between his family.”
However, Simon’s new family life caused friction between the pair at first, as she explained: “(Lauren) and I were best friends. I’m really happy for them, but it was hard and caused a fallout.”
Sinitta went on to say she used to believe that, once Simon had stopped dating other women, they would eventually end up together, adding that she would have married him and “never” fell out of love with him.
Now, though, the Right Back Where We Started From singer insisted she “adores” Eric, and she and Simon are close friends.
