Hilary Duff steps into the world of Dr. Seuss with her new ‘The Cat in the Hat’ movie soundtrack contribution ‘CATastrophe’.
Arriving in cinemas on November 6, the new animation based on the children’s classic is accompanied by a score by Lorne Balfe and a new theme song written by Tim Minchin, performed by FITZ and Tim Minchin featuring Bill Hader.
Also on the soundtrack, which arrives on October 30, is ‘CATastrophe’, written by Duff and her husband Matthew Koma, along with Madison Love and Brian Phillips.
It’s accompanied by a music video, which sees the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star immersed in a series of Seussian-style worlds.
Admitting she jumped at the chance to get involved in the project, Duff shared: “Dr. Seuss was on repeat in our house for years, so when this came around, I didn’t have to think about it,” she shared.
“’CATastrophe’ is about that feeling when your whole world gets picked up and moved somewhere else and nobody asks you first. I wanted it to be honest about those feelings, and still be something you’d turn all the way up in the car.”
