A new Kaiser Chiefs album could be on the way, according to frontman Ricky Wilson.
The band released their most-recent LP, ‘Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album’, back in 2024, and while they have yet to hit the studio to work on its follow-up, Wilson has started writing material.
Revealing the song came to him like much like The Beatles star Paul McCartney recalls having ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Let It Be’ come to him in a dream, he tells The Sun’s Bizarre column: “I’m going to write another album.
“I woke up this morning with a tune in my head, and it’s really good. I’ve already sent it to the band.”
Elaborating, the ‘I Predict a Riot’ singer says: “I get very excited because I’ve heard all the stories about The Beatles and the Rolling Stones who woke up with a song in their head. So I always think to myself, ‘Maybe the gods have sent me something’.”
Wilson goes on to explain how giving up alcohol two years ago has changed his approach to work, admitting: “It’s a lot less chaotic, and a lot more fun.
“You save all that actual hardcore partying for the 90 minutes on stage, and not afterwards, so it’s even better,” he shares. “I think it’s better for the audience, and I laugh a lot more. I’m able to enjoy the moment a lot more.
“I much prefer getting up feeling like I want to do it again, and looking forward to the next show and not wanting to stay under a blanket all day.”
