Jessica Simpson appears to be teasing a return to music in a cryptic social media post.
The With You singer released her most-recent studio album, the holiday collection ‘Happy Christmas’, back in 2010, but now she looks to have a new set of tracks on the way.
Taking to Instagram, the star shared several photos of herself, posing on a chair and wearing a white dress, black furry coat, and black thigh-high boots.
Alongside the post, Jessica explained the photos were taken at Nashville recording studio which has a special significance to her.
“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she wrote. “This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”
It’s not the first time the I Wanna Love You Forever star – who released seven albums between 1999 and 2010 before stepping away from the industry to focus on motherhood and other business ventures, has teased a return to music.
“I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage,” Jessica shared in an interview last year. “And they’ve never seen me do this.
“I have my daughter taking a private plane with [Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter] North West to go see Katy Perry in Vegas. And inside I’m like, ‘She was supposed to see me first.’ Then I’m like, ‘This is not competitive, Jessica. Let your daughter enjoy Katy Perry.’”
She added: “But there’s moments that make me want to do it – for them to see that colour of me.”
