Elton John looks back on his life and career in the first trailer for his forthcoming Disney+ documentary.
The feature, which chronicles his rise to fame and the highs and lows of his success, including struggles with drug addiction and the road back to sobriety, is set to premiere on the streamer on December 13.
In the first preview, he says: “At that time, there was an emptiness within me. My soul had gone dark, I had gone dark. I wasn’t a joy to be around. I didn’t have anything apart from my success and my drugs.”
Titled ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’, the documentary follows the Tiny Dancer hitmaker as he prepares for his final North American stadium show at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium in November 2022.
That concert was also livestreamed on DIsney+.

It was recently reported that Elton has finished work on his 32nd studio album, but release plans are on hold amid the singer-songwriter’s current health issues, which have left him with limited vision.
The Goodbye Yellow Brick Road hitmaker is battling a serious eye infection, with insiders revealing plans for a big end to 2024 with the LP and documentary “up in the air”.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Elton has quietly been working on the album all year. The initial plan was for a Christmas release and to end the year on a high with the new album and his new documentary.
“But his health has meant things are up in the air. A few people are surprised that Elton has managed to complete it by the end of the summer, but now it has officially been handed in.”
