According to reports, Rihanna is gearing up to release her ninth studio album.
The Diamonds hitmaker dropped her last LP, ‘Anti’, in 2016, and eight years later sources say she’s finally on track to share its follow-up.
A “well-placed industry insider” tells The Sun that the singer has already recorded and discarded an entire record’s worth of material, sharing: “It’s been a running joke how long Rihanna’s ninth album has taken to be released, but finally the wait is almost over.
“Because she wants it to sound fresh, and because of where Rihanna is at in her life, practically everything was scrapped.”
Adding that Rihanna has experimented with various genres, they note: “She has gone from pop to reggae to hip-hop and everything in between.
“2025 is set to be her year with a giant tour in the works with Live Nation and yes, Glastonbury is back on the table.”
Fans had speculated that the star would announce the record alongside her Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show performance last year, however they got a different surprise – news that the We Found Love hitmaker was expecting her second child.
