Tom Ball – ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘America’s Got Talent: All Stars’ finalist – will release his debut album, ‘Curtain Call’, on May 24.
The singer shot to fame after competing in the 2022 series of the UK TV show, on which judge Amanda Holden described him as “the best singer ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has seen in 16 years”, and went global after appearing on the US edition, making it all the way to the final.
Now, he’s back with his first studio album, which arrives via Westway Music on the back of his first-ever UK solo tour.
Of the LP, which features 13 tracks that showcase Tom’s incredible vocal range as both a performer and interpreter of songs, as well as a writer, he says: “I knew certain songs had to be in there for myself as well as for my fans.
“Writing’s On The Wall had to be the first track on the album; it’s where it started with BGT and changed my life. It made sense to top the album with that and tail the album with the last song I sung on BGT, I (Who Have Nothing).”
The six original songs are even more personal, reflecting on his relationship with his wife Hannah, a pediatrics nurse, and also his battle with type 1 diabetes, which he was diagnosed with when he was just eight years old. Collaborators on the project include songwriters and producers such as Eliot Kennedy and Gary Barlow.
Also featured is West End star Lucie Jones on the single Goodbye, of which he adds: “I wrote the song Goodbye with Mike Stevens and Jay James. The song is thankfully not related to me in any way, as it’s about a relationship that’s broken down.
“We knew we wanted it as a duet and Lucie Jones is absolutely sensational. I’ve seen her in the West End in ‘Waitress’ and ‘Les Mis’, and I’m so honoured to have her on the album.”
Alongside the album announcement, Tom has released his latest single, The Best Part, which embodies his journey over the last two years, where he’s been travelling the world, but always missing home.
