Dee C Lee will release ‘Just Something’ – her first album since 1998 – on March 22.
The LP features 11 songs: nine originals co-written by Dee, a song penned by her daughter Leah Weller, a successful singer, songwriter in her own right, and two inspired covers.
Produced by Sir Tristan Longworth, the album is billed as “a soulful collection with an easy-going vibe that frames the instantly recognisable vocals of one of the finest and most in-demand British soul singers of her generation”.
Included are the singles Walk Away and Don’t Forget About Love, with performances from fellow Style Councillor Mick Talbot, Brand New Heavies’ Simon Bartholomew, and former James Taylor Quartet bassist Gary Crockett and guitarist Nigel Price.
‘Just Something’ is out March 22 on Acid Jazz and available to pre-order now. In support of the release, Dee will give an exclusive live performance the same day at Rough Trade East, London.
