The Weeknd is currently “finishing” up his new album – the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Dawn FM’.
The Take My Breath hitmaker’s upcoming LP serves as the final in a trilogy of records, also including ‘After Hours’ (2020), which features the massive hits Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears.
Speaking to Variety, the hitmaker – who recently announced plans to retire the moniker and record under his birth name Abel Tesfaye – shared an update on the project and reacted to fans’ theories on its possible title.
“I’m finishing the third part of this saga, of this trilogy,” he revealed. “The name of it will come out soon, but it’s not called what some fans think it’s called…
“What they think it’s called is actually a song on the album, but that’s not what the actual album is called. So I’m just gonna say that.”
It’s yet to be confirmed whether the album will be released under The Weeknd or Abel Tesfaye.
Talk of new music coincides with the airing of his new HBO series, ‘The Idol’, in which he stars and has contributed numerous songs to the soundtrack, including Popular with Madonna and Playboi Carti.
