Previously unheard material by Prince will be debuted as part of Paisley Park’s annual Celebration.
The event, which pays tribute to the late music icon – will return later this year at his legendary recording studio, museum and concert venue in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
Running from June 8 to June 11, the 2023 edition will feature appearances from a host of famous faces in music, along with celebrity-led panels that explore the life and legacy of Prince, and the premiere of previously unreleased music that will be taken from his ‘vault’.
While full details of the new material have yet to be confirmed, it was previously revealed that there are “hundreds of hours” of unreleased demos, alternate takes, and live recordings from the performer.
The line-up for the event includes Chaka Khan, Mint Condition’s Stokley, and Chuck D, D-Nice and Doug E. Fresh, along with multiple members of Prince’s band NPG.
“We believe that Prince was the heart of what would become one of the most creative and talented communities in the world. This year, we want to highlight how you, the fam, are continuing the legacy in numerous ways,” read the description on Paisley Park’s website.
“There will be opportunities to share how your contribution to Prince’s legacy has impacted others, time for creative expression, and a featured panel highlighting some incredible community members making a global impact.”
