Jessie Ware has assembled an all-star line-up of guests on the title song from her new album, ‘That! Feels Good!’.
Out now, the LP features the hit singles Free Yourself, Pearls and Begin Again, and while there are no named guest appearances on the tracklist, the singer-songwriter snuck a few of her famous friends into its playful title song.
Of the various voices that appear on the album’s opening tune, she says: “There are lots of friends and some famous people.
“I went through my phone and had the audacity to message and ask a favour. We had made the song That! Feels Good! and I knew it had to start the record.
“I started voice-noting people saying, ‘Can you do me a favour and say, “That feels good” a load of different times’.”
Naming some of her most well-known celebrity pals that feature, she continues: “It ranges from my mum to Kylie Minogue.
“Bless her, she sent three different versions because she’s that much of a pro and we love her for that.
“Róisín Murphy sent hers from a toilet in an airport in Finland,” Jessie tells The Sun’s Bizarre column. “There’s also Aisling Bea, Clara Amfo, Jamie Demetriou and Benny Blanco.”
In a review of the album, RETROPOP called ‘That! Feels Good!’ “the perfect record, breathing a breath of fresh air into the commercial charts while paying homage to the icons that influenced her journey to becoming one of the UK’s premier artists of the past decade.”
