Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris could clinch this week’s UK No. 1 Single with their latest collaboration Miracle, knocking Ed Sheeran off the top spot in the process.
The singer-songwriter’s latest track Eyes Closed hit the summit last week, but its reign doesn’t look set to last as Ellie and Calvin put up a fierce fight to the top of the charts.
They’re at No. 1 in the midweeks, ahead of Miley Cyrus’ Flowers at No. 2 and Ed at No. 3 – but with just 2,000 chart units separating the Top 3, it could be all change come Friday.
The rest of the Top 5 is unchanged, with Libianca’s People at No. 4 and Rema’s Calm Down at No. 5.
Elsewhere on the Albums Chart, it’s an all-new Top 3 with Boygenius’ ‘The Record’ set to debut at No. 1, ahead of Melanie Martinez’s ‘Portals’ and ‘How Many Dreams’ from DMA’s.
Returning to the charts after 34 years is De La Soul’s ‘3 Feet High and Rising’, following a reissue across formats, at No. 4, while last week’s No. 1, ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd’, rounds out the Top 5.
