Loreen is the hot favourite to represent Sweden at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with her anthemic new track Tattoo.
The singer – who won the 2012 edition of the show with Euphoria – is hoping to replicate the success this year with her latest entry.
Over the weekend, she performed the track during the country’s Melodifestivalen selection show and the single soon proved a hit with fans, quickly breaking streaming records in the process.
Following her performance on Saturday, which saw her progress to the Grand Final of the heats, Tattoo was streamed over 375,600 times, beating all previous entries since the numbers went on record in 2017.
The previous record for streams for a Melfest entry was held by John Lundvik and Too Late For Love in 2019, which amassed 191,960 streams during the same timeframe.
Taking place on March 11, the Grand Final will see 12 acts battle it out to represent Sweden at Eurovision 2023, which is being held in Liverpool, England on behalf of last year’s winners Ukraine.
