The B-52s singer Kate Pierson is taking part in a 12-hour live stream concert this weekend to support a number of coronavirus relief funds.
The Love Shack star announced the gig on the band’s Instagram page, telling fans: “This Saturday Kate is going live on Facebook to support the COVID-19 relief funds of @Musicares, @SweetReliefMusiciansFund and @Plus1org to help those in the live music industry who have lost work due to this pandemic.
“Human To Human will be 12 hours of live music noon-midnight EST,” she added. “RSVP to watch here: https://smarturl.it/humantohumanFB.”
Explaining the money will go towards musicians, as well as behind the scenes personnel, including stagehands, lighting and sound technicians, Kate said in the accompanying clip: “If you’re not in financial dire straits, please find it in your heart to donate.”
