Backstreet Boys are set to return to Las Vegas with a brand new residency show.
The group, whose ‘DNA World Tour’ recently visited the UK, last performed in Sin City with their ‘Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life’, which ran from 2017 to 2019.
Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column, singers AJ McLean and Brian Littrell revealed plans to return to the Vegas stage with a new show.
“We loved Vegas as you can settle in and it’s like you just show up to the office,” said Brian. “You don’t forget where you are performing, you don’t have to remember the name of the city. We’re planning on going back.”
AJ added: “Hopefully we are going back to do another residency, to play for a little longer.
“Those types of shows are easier on us as a band — there is no travel involved. If I want to leave Vegas, it’s only a 40-minute flight back to LA.
“I even moved my mum out there about five years ago and, when I go visit her, I see a whole new side.
“It’s beautiful, residential, fun, it’s warm and there is a plethora of beautiful golf courses. It’s so much more than just the strip.”
Ahead of their 30th anniversary in 2023, Backstreet Boys – starring AJ, Brian, Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, and Howie Dorough – released their holiday LP ‘A Very Backstreet Christmas last month, with Howie sharing: “We’ve been wanting to do a Christmas album for nearly 30 years now and we’re beyond excited that it’s finally happening.
“We had such a fun experience putting our BSB twist on some of our favourite Christmas classics and can’t wait to be part of our fans’ holiday season.”
Tracks on the LP include renditions of White Christmas, Silent Night, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, along with originals Christmas In New York, Together, and Happy Days.
Of the LP, Retro Pop wrote in a review: “On paper, a Backstreet Boys Christmas album could go one of two ways, so it’s the most pleasant of surprises that ‘A Very Backstreet Christmas’ is so good and a reminder that, ahead of the band’s 30th anniversary next year, they’re remain as strong as ever.”
‘A Very Backstreet Christmas’ is available now.
