Sandi Thom is releasing a sequel to her 2013 album ‘The Covers Collection’.
The singer-songwriter, who topped the charts worldwide in 2006 with her single I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair) announced the second instalment on social media.
“Well here we are…. it’s time to release,” she penned. “This is the first raw and real track from The Covers Collection II.
“Following the success of the first album of this kind I decided to make another one!
“So we’re kicking of the releases from this next covers collection album with The First Time, originally released by Roberta Flack in 1972 the song is still just as powerful today, a timeless classic.”
Sandi recently announced plans to release ‘Wanderlust’, a brand new album of original material, which she’ll preview during an intimate gig in London in October.
Teasing a track from the project, titled Warpaint, which was “inspired by the time I spent in the Middle East working as a humanitarian in the animal rescue community,” she added: “It wasn’t easy. It was bloody difficult. I faced a lot of challenges. One in particular last year that pushed me to my limits,” she explained.
“I’m excited to share this song and the story behind it. I like to think of it as laughing in the face of adversity, having the courage to stand your ground and ultimately triumphing over darkness.”
A release date for ‘Wanderlust’ has yet to be confirmed.
