Kylie Minogue is reportedly working on new music in London.
The pop superstar is said to be hard at work on her 16th studio album – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘DISCO’ – which is expected to be released sooner rather than later.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Kylie didn’t get a chance to tour her last album because of COVID restrictions, but she’s thrown herself back into writing music.
“She really loves being in the studio and is spending this summer working on her next record with some really exciting collaborators like [songwriter] Kamille.
“’DISCO’ proved that she still has what it takes to make a massively successful pop album and people are queuing up to work with her.
“There are major plans in the pipeline and she can’t wait to have another record out and to be back on the road.”
Although she’s keen to return to the stage, Kylie is apparently keen to prep new music for the shows before she kicks off a trek, and she’s called on Kamille – known for her collaborations with Little Mix, Dua Lipa and Mabel – to help craft the record.
The insider added: “It has been more than three years since her ‘Golden’ tour and she is itching to perform.
“But that won’t happen now until this new album is out. It’s going to be well worth the wait.”
Kylie recently hinted at what’s to come from her latest project, citing her 2003 chart-topper Slow as a reference point.
“It’s still one of my favourite songs — it doesn’t matter what you do with Slow or what version you play, it always works,” she said.
“I think about what that song did for me back in its time, and I’d like to make something like that again that pushes my boundaries a little bit.”
While she’s previously teased an “electro-pop” sound for the record, Kylie has otherwise remained tight-lipped when it comes to the new music.
