Manic Street Preachers have recorded a cover of Madonna’s classic hit Borderline.
The single originally appeared on the Queen of Pop’s eponymous debut album, from which it was released as its fifth and final single.
The Manics first previewed their rendition of the hit during their set at BBC 6 Music Festival in March and, after proving a hit with fans, they entered the studio to record the track.

“Enjoyed playing it live so much decided to record a studio version,” they tweeted, alongside a snippet of the song.
It’s yet to be confirmed when the track will be released.
Manic Street Preachers returned to the top of the UK charts in 2021 with their 14th album ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called the pop-oriented record “a risk that pays off three decades into their career”.
‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’ is available now.
