All three episodes are available exclusively on Apple Music and, in the first instalment, he insists he “had no intention of making an Elton John record during lockdown”.
The Tiny Dancer singer added: “That was never gonna be the case. When I did that track with Charlie Puth at the start of the year, I never dreamed that it would lead to this.”
Elton went on to explain he “made more calls during lockdown” than ever before, recalling: “Dua Lipa, you know, we became friends after she did the Oscar party.
“Never thought of doing a duet with Dua Lipa – all these things, they were an accident basically.”
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘The Lockdown Sessions’ “a fitting chapter at this point in Elton’s six-decade career”.
‘The Lockdown Sessions’ is available on CD, vinyl and cassette.
