Released: 12 November 2021
Kylie Minogue leads a VIP list of collaborators on her all-new ‘DISCO’ reissue.
The ‘Guest List Edition’ of her record-breaking 2020 LP features four new tracks, including collaborations with Dua Lipa, Years & Years, Jessie Ware and Gloria Gaynor, alongside the original, 16-track Deluxe edition of the album.
Although the new contributions are limited, they pack a hefty punch and continue the ‘DISCO’ soundtrack, as Kylie trades verses with icons of the genre past and present.
Lead single A Second to Midnight sees the pop icon team up with Olly Alexander and is an instant classic, while Kiss of Life with Jessie Ware was worth the wait. Can’t Stop Writing Songs About You with the I Will Survive legend is sublime.
Also featured on the new release is seven remixes, including the Studio 2054 edit of Real Groove with Lipa – along with the fan-favourite Initial Talk mix, harkening back to her Stock Aitken Waterman heyday.
Other standouts include the Purple Disco Machine Remix of Magic and Linslee’s Electric Slide edit of Dance Floor Darling.
If 26 tracks – clocking in at over 1.5 hours – wasn’t enough, CD editions of the record come with a CD, DVD and Blu-ray of the ‘Infinite Disco’ livestream special, featuring the full 15-song set. Meanwhile, a limited vinyl release features extended versions of the standard 12-track ‘DISCO’ album.
Kylie’s latest era might have been impacted by global events that kept the superstar from the live stage, but you can’t knock her resourcefulness – if you can’t invite fans out to party, bring the party to them.
Kitchen disco, anyone?
‘DISCO: Guest List Edition’ is available as a 3CD, 1 DVD, 1 BLU-RAY set, along with 2CD and 3LP editions. Also on offer is a 2LP coloured vinyl of ‘DISCO’ featuring 12 extended mixes.
