There’ll be Murder on the Dancefloor as Sophie Ellis-Bextor attempts to keep moving for 24 hours for Radio 2’s BBC Children in Need Challenge 2021.
The Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer) hitmaker became a huge sensation throughout lockdown in 2020 with her weekly Kitchen Disco livestream shows and she’s keeping the momentum going with her biggest performance yet.
Beginning at 9.25 am GMT on 16 November (21) and finishing the same time the following day, Sophie will dance her way through a full 24 hours to raise funds for the charity.

She says: “I love to dance, I love to ‘Kitchen Disco’, but can I keep going for a whole 24 hours? I’m sure I can for BBC Children In Need… with the support of Radio 2’s fantastic listeners!”
During the danceathon, Sophie will be joined in person and via video link by a host of celebrity guests.
Meanwhile, viewers can send their own messages of support to Sophie and donate online..
The money raised will go towards supporting children and young people across the UK facing a range of disadvantages.
The Bittersweet hitmaker began the live stream series during the first lockdown in March 2020 and continued the jaunt with 20 shows live from her home.
Next year, she’ll hit the stage for her ‘Kitchen Disco’ Tour, featuring tracks from the shows and her subsequent best-of album ‘Songs From the Kitchen Disco‘.
