Dave Gahan has shared his cover of Cat Power’s Metal Heart.
Written by Chan Marshall aka Cat Power and first released in 1998, the reimagined version from Dave & Soulsavers is the first track to be lifted from the forthcoming LP ‘Imposter’.
“It’s probably my favourite at the moment,” says Dave of the track, which is out now across digital platforms.
“It was really such a great performance to record because it had this arc, starting as just this little thing which by the end grows into a monster, and to me that same arc also reflects the sentiment of the song.”
The project also includes selections from Neil Young, Bob Dylan, PJ Harvey, Charlie Chaplin and Mark Lanegan, amongst others.
‘Imposter’ is available to pre-save/add. Pre-order links to follow.
