Wet Wet Wet have cancelled their forthcoming ‘The Journey’ Tour.
The group was set to hit the road across the UK in support of their forthcoming album – the first to feature new frontman Kevin Simm.
But after a string of summer festival shows, the Love Is All Around hitmakers have opted out of further headline shows throughout the autumn.
A spokesman for the band said: “The complexities of live music multi-date touring are difficult enough but add in numerous restrictions from different authorities, indeed governments, coupled with soaring costs and supply issues and the logistics simply don’t work.”
“We know that the many thousands of ticket holders will be upset by this news and we totally share their disappointment,” added the band.
“We will do everything in our power to make it up to our fans and get back out there performing live as soon as we can.”
‘The Journey’, due November 5, features 12 brand new songs, and is available in a variety of formats, including single and double CD editions, coloured vinyl and cassette.
Deluxe formats also include a second album of re-recorded hits, spanning the group’s four-decade history.
‘The Journey’ is available to pre-order now.
