Steps have unleashed their cover of Five Star’s The Slightest Touch as the latest track from ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’.
The single, co-produced by 7th Heaven and The Alias, is influenced by the original Shep Pettibone mixes of the tune.
Steps said: “We are SUCH massive fans of Five Star, when we started brainstorming a possible cover idea to include on ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ this felt like the natural choice.
“They are absolute idols of ours and have always dreamed about giving one of their songs a euphoric Steps makeover. We are SO excited about the end result and hope fans love it as much as our part covers like Chain Reaction and Tragedy.”
Upon hearing the cover, Five Star gave their seal of approval, saying, “We love this version! You guys nailed it!”.
In addition to the single, the group dropped a video on their social media pages, recorded backstage at their first live show in three years.
“We LOVE this song so much it inspired a party backstage after our show in Manchester,” they penned.
Steps also invited fans to send in their own dance party videos as duets on TikTok.
The Slightest Touch follows Take Me For a Ride and Heartbreak in this City (feat. Michelle Visage) as singles from the new album, due September 10.
‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ is available to pre-order on CD, LP and Cassette.
