Daniel James is back with his brand new single Don’t Want to Lose That Girl.
The track follows Set Your Spirit Free, the former Yell! Star’s first solo release in 30 years, and deals with the intricacies of a faltering relationship.
The star’s musical comeback was inspired by time spent alone during the pandemic, which compelled him to return to songwriting for the first time in decades.
He tells Retro Pop: “I genuinely didn’t think that we’d be doing this, you know, I didn’t set out to do it. And I didn’t actually think I’d sing again.
“I’ve managed to write a handful of songs during lockdown.”
And it doesn’t look like there’ll be long to wait for more new music; Daniel revealed another track, Do You Remember Me, is also on the way.
