Boy George has been keeping busy during self-isolation and has written “six or seven albums” worth of music.
The Culture Club frontman revealed on Louis Theroux’s Grounded podcast: “I’ve written so much music I’ve got enough for six or seven albums.”
While the star admitted he’s “not saying every single thing is good,” he believes his new record label will be able to put some of the songs to good use.
“I signed a deal just before Christmas with a company called Primary Wave, whose job it is to go out and place your music in movies.
”I own copyright with them. It’s a new experience for me to own music,” he explained, adding: “I don’t own any of the stuff I did in the 80s – the publishers can do what they want with it and they do do what they want with it.”
George went on to recall his classic hit Karma Chameleon was once turned into a jingle for a burger shop, complete with new lyrics about “carrots and peas”.
“Of course we see money from it but I’d pay them not to do that,” he quipped.
When lockdown measures came into effect in the UK back in March, the hitmaker released the aptly-titled single, Isolation.
