The boys are back as two of the biggest acts of the ’80s – Gary Numan and Boy George – return with new tracks this week! Plus new music from the brilliant Sharleen Spiteri and Texas.
Gary Numan – Intruder
After announcing his forthcoming 19th LP, Intruder, former Tubeway Army frontman Gary Numan returned with its title track and lead single.
According to the singer, the track “looks at climate change from the planet’s point of view. If Earth could speak, and feel things the way we do, what would it say? How would it feel?”
The track comes with a dramatic visual from the star, who’s set to drop the record on May 21st.
Texas – Hi
Kicking off the campaign for their 10th album, Texas returned this week with Hi – the lead single from the album of the same name.
The Sharleen Spiteri-fronted group returned just before Christmas with the surprise release of another version of Hi, featuring Wu-Tang Clan, which was met with unanimous praise.
According to a press release, Texas’ new album – the follow-up to 2017’s Jump on Board – is packed with “pure Texas gold… easily rivalling the best music of their stellar career”.
Boy George – Cool Karaoke Vol 1
In a surprise move, Culture Club frontman Boy George made a sensational comeback this week with his first solo LP in eight years.
The 13-track collection features the previously released Rainbow In The Dark and What Would You Call Unreasonable, and includes collaborations with Asaf Goren, Shay D and ’80s legend Kim Wilde.
Cool Karaoke Vol 1 is currently available exclusively on YouTube, with a move to streaming planned for February.
