Limahl takes in the festive sights around London in his latest music video.
The former Kajagoogoo frontman has shared the visual for his latest tune, the holiday number One Wish For Christmas, which is out now.
In the clip, which follows a couple on a tour around the capital’s winter highlights – many of which are name-checked in the song – the tune from the stage of The London Palladium
“I love London,” he tells Headliner alongside the premiere of the video. “It’s been such an important part of my life… But there are hardly any [songs] about London, so I always had this thing about, ‘Somebody’s got to write really good songs about London’.
“I had this ambition to try and come up with a great Christmas song, which is a huge challenge, because how can you write something new about Christmas?” he muses. “People have been doing it for 100 years!
“The lyrics are about London at Christmas, and they seem to have more poignancy and more relevance in 2020 because of the pandemic, because the lyrics talk about all the things we’ve been unable to do: a romantic city trip, a theatre show, shopping – all the things that make us feel like living.”
One Wish For Christmas is the follow-up to Limah’s single Still In Love, which was a radio hit earlier this year.
You can catch Limahl performing hits new and old on new online music show That Was Then… This Is Now! – which streams weekly on Thursdays from 7 pm UK time.
