Roxette have given fans a taste of their upcoming album with new song Help! – a cover of The Beatles (or, to our mind, Bananarama and Lananeeneenoonoo) classic.
The track was recorded in November 1995, and will be featured on the new album Bax of Trix, which is set to drop soon.
Per Gessle said of the new release: “We landed from the mighty Crash! Boom! Bang! World Tour in May, took a short break for the summer then straight back to the studio in Stockholm to record four new songs for our first compilation album Don’t Bore Us – Get To The Chorus!
“The album came out in the autumn and to promote it we decided to do a small gig at Shepherd’s Bush in London and also to record some acoustic songs at the Holy Grail of studios; Abbey Road, to be broadcasted by the BBC in England,” he continued. “We were (still are!) in awe of The Fab Four so being at Abbey Road we couldn’t help ourselves but make our own version of The Beatles’ Help!
“It was a great day, pop history in every corner and an amazing feeling to take part of the Abbey Road legacy. All smiles in the Roxette camp.”

It’s the first new material from the group following the death of singer Marie Fredriksson back in December.
