Hazell Dean would love to record with the Pet Shop Boys.
The Who’s Leaving Who hitmaker is known for her dancefloor-friendly offerings and is keen to work with fellow electro-pop stars Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe on a track.
In an interview with gten.online, she opened up on her ambitions and the goals she’d still love to achieve, admitting: “If Neil & Chris of Pet Shop Boys want to give me a call to record something with them, that would be pretty special.”
While Hazell confessed she’s otherwise “very happy just bobbing along in my own happy Hazell Dean world,” the star, who has penned a number of her own tracks, including the hit single Jealous Love, also shared her future songwriting ambitions.
“I have always been a songwriter, so it would be amazing to have an artist cover one of my songs, and have a massive hit. That would be the cherry on top of the cake,” the Hi-NRG Queen smiled.
While there’s no new music on the cards as yet, she went on to assure that she’ll be back on stage next year once Covid-19 restrictions have lifted, and has a number of “prides and festivals already scheduled“.
